Today's Workout: PEDAL NYC

Tonight I had the pleasure of biking over to the Upper West Side and taking my first cycling class with Mr. Ray and PEDAL NYC. The location is tranquil for NYC right on West End Ave 1 block from the water on a courtyard.

The first thing that caught my eye was the fact that this studio had a BIKE RACK in front. I enjoy cycling outdoors, not doing push-ups/weights on bikes, and that is usually not the case with many indoor cyclist, so I guess they don't assume that people would bike to class. Great start.

Studio itself was great. I personally hate when the bikes are on top of each other, and each bike at PEDAL NYC was far apart enough that I didn't feel like I could seem the body odor of the person next to me or have their sweat dripping on me.

Additionally, the LiveStrong Bikes have magnetic resistance, which made the ride itself rather smooth and calibrated rather accurately compared to other studios I have been to. I was checking my numbers consistently as I like to maintain my pedal speed. The handlebars are great and probably one of the best bikes I've been on. The monitor is easy to see as well.

Mr Ray played a great variety of music from Avicii- Don't Wake Me Up, Katy Perry's New Hit Single Roar and finished with a killer mash-up featuring Icona Pops I Love it with a great sound system.

As an outdoor rider himself, you would expect to have a killer ride, intense cardio, with a great mix up of steep hills and flats. No push ups or anything unsafe on the bike.

Also, did notice the Cycle Ops in the bike which I would have loved to put my bike on and try out. And fantastic if you have a great rate monitor as the bikes calibrate with HR Monitors as well.

Three Thumps Up for Mr. Ray and Pedal.

Great Lower Handlebars with a Monitor that seemed calibrated well and easy to read.
All bikes were spread apart really well so no body odor from your neighbor next to you.
